Photographer and Interviewer Karen Hutton has a chat with two photographers I go to for inspiration all of the time when I go out shooting, especially Matt Kloskowski as he and I have the same interests in Landscape Photography and Scott Kelby for his thoughts on photography and the training videos his company Kelby|One provides to us Photographers and Digital Artists on Photoshop.
I have tried several times to get my photographs under the noses of these two for some time when they perform their blind critic of peoples work, because I would value their opinion of my work and their thoughts on what I should focus my efforts on.
Here is hoping that either Scott or Matt see this blog post and they get in touch.
Ever since I looked at getting my Permanent Residency Visa to live and work in Australia, I had made one important restriction on the locations of Australia I would consider living in and not living in for a variety of reasons. One such place I had considered a place I did not want to live was Perth, Western Australia.
Reason: I had spoken to several people in the UK, watched several television programs, read lots of websites and this City was considered the primary destination for those wishing to emigrate from the UK and until a few days ago, I considered it one of the most expensive places to live in the world, let alone in Australasia!
This very quick article is not designed to be a review of the iPhone 4 or the HTC One mobile phones. I just so happens to be those phones I have, this article is to express my feelings of moving away from iOS something I said I would never do, and start using Android.
I will start off by saying, I am aware that the photo that starts this article shows the iPhone 5 and the HTC One side-by-side, just so I don’t get loads of comments about my mistake. As I said this is about iOS vs Android not the phones themselves.
After several months of promising that I would continue my Where Are They Now series with an article on the popular television series Everwood. Here it is…
Like my last article of the ‘Where Are They Now’ series, I am hoping that this will be just as popular with my readers as the 7th Heaven one. Much like that article I would like to know why you’ve come to read this, so help me out and answer a very quick poll and then I will get right into it.
After one month in Australia I have finally gotten round to posting here again. I just wanted to post a quick update on what is happening and what I have planned if you’re interested in reading about my new life in the land of Oz.
The last four weeks have been quite a roller-coaster of a time. I don’t think I expected it to be easy but I didn’t expect to have such a hard time.
Hello readers, yes I am back… After almost seven months I am back writing again, and boy has it been a roller coaster of a time. I am going to start off this post, as I always do with every post that has come before it, apologizing for the time between posts, but this time it is because of some major life changing things that have stopped me from posting as regularly as I promised when I first started this blog.
This post is going to be more of a personal review of the year that has gone forth. I felt this was the best way of getting it out of my head, putting it down on paper as it were. If you guys read this, then I thank you for taking the time to read and hope you understand the reasons behind why I am telling the world about the problems I have faced this last twelve months.
Today I want to post three videos that I have found from around the web. I think they give a great understanding of how technology has progressed over the last 25 years.
The Mac in 1985
We start with a video that was produced by The Computer Chronicles where they demonstrate the latest in the Mac Hardware and Software and where it is heading. The quality isn’t great, but it is 1985 after all….
A look at Japan’s underground bicycle parking system
Secondly we take a look at something that I think that should be adopted by all major cities. Now I know Japan (although I have never been, but hope to visit in the near future) is a nation that loves to travel around the city by Bicycle and have far more of the things than other cities (combined, probably).
This system is absolutely fantastic… I will shut up and let Danny Choo of Culture Japan show you how it works.
Photoshop Live – Street Retouch Prank
Finally we have the Photoshop Live – Street Retouch Prank. This thing made me cry with laughing. I would love to see this done here in my home town. Just watch it you will be amazed at how quick they are able to edit photos and the peoples reactions.
It has been quite sometime since my last post… there is a reason for that and I will post again to explain why when I have more time. Today I just wanted to re-iterate my point about scamming emails and how people still fall for these, clearly incorrect emails.
Today I received an email from Yahoo! Internet Lottery Organization indicating that my email address had been selected from 50 Million email address around the world and I had won $1 Million US Dollars.
Here is that email (there is a few things on it I will point out that you can take away and not get taken in by these scammers):
You may have heard the old saying “You are only paying for the name…” well this is something that has crossed my mind a lot lately. Those who read this blog and those that know me, know my devotion to Apple products is a strong one, and despite being a contradiction in terms to what I am about to write about, I will most probably continue to support Apple by purchasing their products in the years to come.
For a number of years, rather than attempting to stick with New Years Resolutions which we all have every intention to comply with and then say when the year ends, well I never did what I set out to do. I set myself a challenge to learn a new skill for the year, either by attending a class or signing up to college. This year I decided to return to college and take up a Vehicle Maintenance Course in an attempt to learn how to repair my own vehicle and save myself money on the parts and labor.
